"I had a really super day on Friday with my co-pilot
Rod, and am extremely grateful to the organisation
and especially our Instructors Ian and Zak for made
it an exciting, interesting and very enjoyable experience. The thrill of 15" driving is something
magical. It was a great day and great weather too!
Everything ran extremely well including the catering
stops, and whilst a little disappointed that due to
mechanical failure I was unable to drive Hurricane
(a blue icon from my childhood), I understand it
had been the intention to use it, so full marks for
effort to you all. Hope its back running soon.
As someone who actually does instructing as a
F/M on the Severn Valley Railway, I really
appreciate the great effort that you all put in to
making a memorable day. Even disposing the
engine was fun compared with a 4'81/2" 1:1
scale GWR 28XX, and significantly less
effort! - I did help, .... a bit.
I would be really pleased if you would pass on
my sincere thanks to all concerned, and rest
assured I intend to do this again. If I lived closer
I would be a volunteer tomorrow.
So until the next time,
Kind Regards and Thanks to You all”.
